Trail 2: Comparatively easier
You can drive your car up till a small hotel known as Santosh where you can get a parking space and then trek the remaining distance in about 5 hours to reach the top of Kodachadri peak.
Trail 3: Costly one
The longest offbeat path which is covered by a jeep safari is one of an adventure in itself. You can have this bumpy ride at an approximate cost of 3000 to enjoy the thrill of it.

Trek Distance
As mentioned above, there are different trails available to reach the Kodachadri peak. The total trekking distance is around 20 km, if you start your journey from the very start and can take up to 2 days. However, it is strictly advised to not go camping alone and hire a trusted tour guide.
Next is the jeep safari, which can be done within a day and is one of the costly but comfortable option.As it takes you up to Shankar Peetha you just need to cover a really short distance to reach the top.
Lastly, the last trek route leaves you with a trekking distance of 5 km which can be done in 4 to 5 hours as you just need to walk the last section and the starting part can be covered by your own private transport.

Typically, there are dormitories where you can sleep in your sleeping bags when on a 2 days trek. Stay in Nagodi and Nittur to have the best of experience of the homestays which also gives you easy accessibility to other major tourist spots. Especially in monsoon the stay in these homestays are a memorable weekend in itself. The town of Kollur provides you with ample stay options apart from these with reasonable prices if you book in advance.
What is the cost
The cost of the trek to Kodachadri depends on the various factors like the Trek route you take, number of days you stay, which tour operator you choose and miscellaneous expenditure like travelling expense, parking fees for your private vehicle etc.
