India out of Asia Cup 2022 is the latest news in the market. Indian team is now out of Asia Cup after loosing their last match to Pakistan. Both the teams played really well but it’s a sports event, one has to win & other has to loose also. Team India seemed a little unstable from the very beginning. In this article, we are going to list 5 places where Indian team went wrong this Asia Cup 2022.
An Inability To Handle Big Game
As in the past, India won the games against Ireland and England in the build-up to the Asia Cup. In a major tournament, however, performance dipped again, especially in crunch matches. This is due to some subpar performances in crunch games.
A 26-ball 68 (strike rate 243) against minnows Hong Kong explains Suryakumar Yadav‘s 160 strike rate in this Asia Cup. In his match against Pakistan, he scored 18 off 18 balls and 13 off 10. He scored 34 off 29 balls against Sri Lanka. In these key games, he had a modest strike rate of 118.
The strike rate of KL Rahul in this edition is 104, Hooda’s is 106, and Pant’s is 124.
Inconsistency
Yuzvendra Chahal, the top order leg-spinner in the Indian team, had a good start in the series. Rahul has an average of 17 runs in four games. Bhuvi bowled a disastrous 19th over against both Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage. This resulted in loosing the
Including two wides, he gave up 19 and 14 runs, respectively. A major disappointment was the middle order of Yadav, Pant, and Hooda.
One Trick Ponies
Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh were subpar on the field. In the last-overs match against Pakistan, left-arm Arshdeep dropped a Catch. While bowling in the opener against Pakistan, Chahal spilt a ball.
In the Sri Lanka game, he did not even try for an early catch that a more athletic fielder might have taken. Bhuvi is a decent batsman in both Tests and ODIs. However, his T20 strike rate is 71.

Missing direct hits on Stumps
Both Pant and Arshdeep missed the stumps with their throws during India’s crucial match against Sri Lanka. Throughout the tournament, the Indian team was really struggling to hit bulls eye when it comes to hitting the stumps. This was happening for both long & shirt throws towards the stumps. Maybe! Indian team needs practicing long throws a little more than usual.
Average running between the wickets
Pakistan and Sri Lanka were superior to India when it comes to running netween the wickets. For India, very little converting one into two. In contrast, twos became one. Yadav, Pant, and Hooda rarely showed urgency when running. However, things were different when India used to play in captaincy of Dhoni & kohli. Their running between the wickets used to be as good as Australia.
Concluding Words:
India might have survived this Asia Cup with flying colors if they could have done a little more practice & worked on team building. Many clashes in the team have been seen since the very beginning of the series. These above mentioned 5 & many more other than these ones have concluded in India being elimianted from the Asia Cup. I wish they’ll keep things into consideration & get ready for the upcoming T20 Worldcup.
